For the Love of Coffee

For the Love of Coffee

Come and celebrate International Coffee Day with us on Saturday 1 October. Whether it's to kick start your day, catch up with friends, a pick me up after the night before or even a hot date our coffee won't let you down. We can't take all the credit for this wonderfully fresh coffee though. It's partly to do with how much love goes in to making it, but the main credit goes to Flaming Bean, our local roaster in Neston. We love their coffee and we hope you do too. Flaming Bean, Neston Steve and Karen make up Flaming Bean Coffee Roastery, and both are exceptionally passionate about coffee. Steve is the master roaster and has trained with the London School of Coffee. All their coffees are purchased from reputable sources where the coffee farmers are rewarded with a fair price for their hard work. The overall majority of Flaming Bean's green coffee is purchased from farms/estates that support environmental sustainability by promoting organic agricultural practices and honest wages for famers through better than fair trade pricing. Always Rich with a Great Body Even if you choose to go decaffeinated, your taste buds won't be missing out. Flaming Bean have a very clever way of extracting the caffeine which doesn't effect the flavour or aroma of the beans using carbon dioxide (100% natural). Coffee Facts To Perk You Up Many moons ago goat herders noticed that their goats appeared to dance and be merry after eating coffee berries. A monk had the great idea to make a drink from the berries, obviously he enjoyed the effect and hence this delicious hot drink was born. All over the world people are having a love affair with coffee; especially in New York! New Yorkers drink almost seven times as much coffee as the rest of the U.S. However, Finland is the most caffeinated country, where the average adult consumes the equivalent of four or five cups of coffee a day. The name Cappuccino comes from the resemblance of the drink to the clothing of the Capuchin monks. The name Americano is Italian for "American coffee". There is a popular belief that the name has its origins in World War II when American G.I.s in Italy would dilute espresso with hot water to suit their taste. It is the second most traded commodity on earth; the number one commodity being oil. Come Celebrate With Us!
