Some Young Punks

Something bold, exciting and a little bit sensual has been causing quite a stir here at Whitmore & White these past few weeks. All the way from the land down under, where women glow and men plunder, we have acquired two absolutely phenomenal wines from a group of three friends who decided to combine their skills and make game-changing wine crammed full with as much charisma and sass as they are. The guilty suspects? None other than Some Young Punks.

Port & Cheese

Port: that rich, silky, heady elixir that's been a staple of the British festive dining table for centuries. For many, a bottle of Port coupled with a fragrant array of cheese is the gastronomic highlight of Christmas day. But there are many different types of Port, and a whole world of cheese out there, so which Port suits which cheese? Is it all just about Stilton? Luckily as purveyors of fine cheese and Port, we have the answers! But first, what is Port and where does it come from?

Mixed Case Fine Wine

There's an old saying that can be attributed to many things but always seems more pertinent when it comes to wine: "Life's too short to drink bad wine". We've always advocated that spending a little more will get you a lot more bang for your buck, so I've put together a mixed case of wine that I think show the finer side of wine to you the consumer; increased concentration of flavours, limited production, more time and effort given in making the wine and wines that give class in a glass.

Whitmore Gin Baubles

Sorry, did we just say gin baubles? Baubles full of gin? To hang on a Christmas Tree? Have we lost the merry gin-fueled plot? Not yet! It's a true story! We've made our very own gin baubles using our very own Whitmore Gin!

Winter Cocktails with Chase Distillery

Here at Whitmore & White, we've been working with Chase Distillery in Herefordshire since we opened and have been champions of their brand and their ethos ever since. The Chase Distillery is based on the same farm that grows all of the King Edward, Lady Claire and Lady Rosetta potatoes used to make all Chase spirits, meaning they have a sustainable single-estate "Farm to Bottle" approach.

All New Mixed Case Wine

Believe it or not, buying wine by the case is one of the best ways to squeeze every last drop of value out of your wine merchant! But what if you don't want six dozen bottles of one thing? What if there was an indie wine merchant selling mixed cases of wine at a great price without handcuffing you to a lifetime subscription of increasingly suspect wine? Well: Yoohoo! We're right here!

Mixed Case Wine

Mixed Case Wine. How do you buy your wine? Do you grab a quick bottle on the way home from work? Do you pick a few up with the weekly shopping? Are you a member of an online wine club and have a case delivered every month? There are of course no rights or wrongs to buying wine, but what can we do for you on the Mixed Case front?

Pairing Wine with Venison

From October onwards the Venison season is upon us and what a season it is! Magnificent and versatile meat, there are so many delicious ways to cook it - but which wine should you drink with it? You simply must do this wonderful meat justice, so here are my three favourite venison dishes with three perfect wine pairings.
