From Javier San Pedro Ortega.

Javier was born in Laguardia and is fifth generation from a wine making family. Javier’s wines are produced from his own vineyards.

From a 5 year old boy who used to clean his grandfather’s winery, he made his first wine in 2005 in the winery for his father when he was 17. After 8 years of giving his personal touch to the family winery, he decided to undertake his own project and that’s when the Javier San Pedro Ortega winery was born.

Today, this is an innovative winery with a young team looking to surprise the consumer and differentiate itself from the traditional wines of Rioja. Each wine has to transmit the expression and authenticity of its terroir.

This Blanco Joven is made from the Viura grape and is a bright straw colour. With floral nuances and citrus notes on the nose, it has nicely balanced acidity and more tropical, banana, pineapple and melon notes on the palate.
