Bottled after three years in barrel, this has an intense nose with a distinctive wild cherry aroma. The palate is well balanced and youthful, with intense plum and cherry fruit and good length.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Quinta do Noval lies in the Douro valley in Northern Portugal where it has produced great Port since 1715. It is one of the oldest port houses, and to many, possibly the greatest. Its uniqueness is that most of the ports are made from estate-grown fruit and, notably, all of the vintage Noval wines are from the single Quinta do Noval vineyard.
The awe-inspiring terraced vineyards of Noval are an infertile schist, and not so much soil as much as sheer rock. The elevation of the vineyards goes from just above river level to about 400 metres. The tremendous rewards of the work done at the estate are visible across the range of Noval ports, and have placed Noval a step ahead of everyone in the Douro.Portugal Duoro Quinta do Noval Touriga Nacional, Tourica Francesca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Cao, Tinta Barocca A great match to fig tart 0.195
