Delheim Pinotage Rose
TASTING NOTE
Delheim's ever-popular Pinotage Rosé (the first of its kind to be produced in South Africa in 1976) has aromas of pomegranate, cranberry with floral notes. Delicate flavours of juicy red berry fruit linger on the palate and add to the freshness of the wine.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Delheim is an eco-friendly, family run estate consisting of two properties based in the area of Simonsberg in Stellenbosch. The vineyards, which sit at elevations between 300 - 500 metres, are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinotage, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Riesling.
Their Pinotage Rosé was one of the first wines in South Africa to sport the world's first sustainability seal as a guarantee of eco-friendly production.
Effective from 2010, the voluntary system is available to those wineries to have passed the accreditation of the Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) set of sustainable principles, at farm, winery and bottling levels. IPW covers a range of issues such as integrated pest management, the health of workers, the conservation of biodiversity and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
