ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Cicada is produced by Riverby Estate in New Zealand. Riverby Estate is a boutique wine estate occupying a prime site in Marlborough, being situated next door to iconic winery Cloudy Bay.

In 1989 vines were first planted and grapes are now grown on the estate vineyard by descendants of the Matthews family, who have been farming the property for over 100 years. The land was originally used for cropping and sheep farming. Now over 70 hectares are planted out in Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Semillon, Syrah and Grüner Veltliner.
