A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from Southern Tuscany. A great alternative to Chianti and Brunello.
From a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers suopplememted by cool breezes from the proximity to the Tuscan coast and using vines just over 20 years old, leads to a wine of great complexity and poise.
Primary fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic conversion in the same tanks. Further ageing in stainless steel and bottle leads to a super smooth wine, with accentuation on primary black fruits - blackberry, damson, plum and balckcurrant, with a spicy underscore.
