A fab 10 year old single malt from Benriach, released as part of a new core range launched in 2020. The Original Ten was matured in a trio of casks - bourbon barrels, sherry casks and virgin oak casks - imparted a bounty of honeyed fruit and softly toasted oak notes, alongside just a hint of smoke (if you're looking for something a little more peaty, you'll want to check out The Smoky Ten, too!). Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose Nectarine, honeydew melon, vanilla sponge with cream and jam and a touch of cedar.
Palate More baked goods - now croissants dipped in milky coffee and cinnamon rolls. Still packs plenty of creamy orchard fruits notes, plus a waft of earthy peat.
Finish Nutty malt, vanilla pod and apricot remains.
