Balla Geza Feketeleanyka
1995
This Feketeleanyka – or Feteasca Neagra (Black Maiden) – a black grape indigenous to Romania – comes from Transylvania's famous Minis vineyard nestled in the foothills of Arad where the grapes enjoy long sunshine hours on granite-rich soils. The wine is replete with juicy blueberry, black cherry, and warming spice. It is both silky-smooth and tangy, a duality that makes it an ideal pairing with braised or roasted lamb, meaty pastas, sausages, and beef of all styles.
