Chateau Larose Pergansson
A clear, intense colour and a bouquet of black berries with spicier notes coming to the fore. On the palate the wine is full with great structure and freshness, as well as polished, elegant tannins. Plenty of flavour and complexity. A very long lasting finish with great finesse.
Ca dei Frati Brolettino
Delightfully pale golden, this wine opens with a nose of stone fruits and a touch of vanilla spice from the oak ageing. The palate is full of rich peach, with a creamy, honeyed texture lifted by stony minerality. Intense and concentrated through to a very fresh finish.
Pouilly Fuisse Les Vieux Murs
This wine has an intense mineral and citrus character with complex nutty, buttery flavours. Well balanced and complex, with crisp acidity and good texture, this is a concentrated yet elegant wine. Delicious!
Monte Real Gran Reserva
This wine has spent 24-30 months in American oak barrels after fermentation in stainless steel. A further three years in bottle before release gives a wine, not only of great complexity, but with some evolution of fruit. It is earthy, spicy and plum-like with some redcurrant and cherry notes on the palate.
Mount Horrocks Shiraz
This is dark crimson and fragrant, with indulgent spice and powerful dark fruit aromas. This supremely appealing Clare Valley wine captures the vibrant, juicy red fruits, plum and five spice notes typical of Shiraz, in a medium-bodied, bright and rounded wine with perfect texture and mouthfeel. Very approachable now but will as easily cellar through the next 8-10 years. This is a big staff favourite here at W&W.
Torre del Falasco Amarone
Aromas of plums, prunes, figs and raisins with a cinnamon and nutmeg edge on the nose. The palate is rich and ripe with bittersweet cherry and raisin notes. The tannins are smooth and supple and the finish just goes on forever.
