Tasting Note

Grenache is the most widely planted red grape variety in the world and some of the best wines in the world have some Grenache in it. Single varietal Grenache wines are however harder to find. A typical light red colour invites you to this medium bodied and easy drinking style of wine. Flavours of watermelon, violets and strawberries are integrated with the subtle oak to give this wine a fresh complexity. The palette has a creamy taste and is long lasting with smooth and grippy tannins to make it the perfect food wine for all occasions.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Waverley Hills is best known for producing organic wines with a unique style, extremely smooth with soft ripe tannins and robust fynbos characteristic. The Estate is situated between Tulbagh and Ceres, close to Wolseley, South Africa, at the foothills of the breathtaking Witzenberg Mountain Range. The fertile, yellow clay terrain is impregnated with river stones, resulting in well-drained soils with excellent water holding capacity. All the vineyards are irrigated with pure spring water and are located on a natural watershed area. The area is renowned for its diverse fynbos (indigenous flora), giving their wines a unique herbaceous characteristic.
