Made predominantly from Tempranillo, this wine is fermented in stainless steel and left in bottle for a short time before release. This maintains freshness and purity of the Tempranillo fruit - redcurrants and crunchy red apple on the nose, which follow through on the palate and balance with soft tannins.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Based in Fuenmayor in the Rioja Alta region, the Foncea family run this Bodega and produce an impressive range of Riojas. From Blanco, through Rosado to Gran Reserva, the key phrase is 'quality and value'. The grapes harvested from the 55 ha of vineyards (mainly Tempranillo) are fermented in stainless steel and those requiring ageing are done so in a combination of French and American oak 225 litre casks.
