The 21yo is quite heavily Sherried - the nose is quite citrus driven with orange peel notes. The palate is smooth and full of barley sugar, sweet sherry and fig notes with a touch of drying oak on the finish. A beautiful malt!
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Glenfarclas distillery is a Highland whisky distillery in Ballindalloch, Scotland. Glenfarclas translates as meaning 'valley of the green grass'.
The distillery was first granted a license in 1836 when it was run by Robert Hay. In 1865 it was bought by John Grant and is still owned and run by his descendants, making it truly independent. The distillery has six stills which are the largest in the Highland/Speyside area and are heated directly by gas burners.
Glenfarclas has a production capacity of around 90,000 litres of finished whisky per year. Normally four stills are used for production with two kept in reserve. It has approximately 50,000 casks maturing on site, in traditional dunnage warehouses, with stock from every year from 1952 to the current year. Glenfarclas produce a traditional Speyside/Highland malt with a heavy sherry influence.Scotland Speyside Glenfarclas 0.43
