Casa Silva Angostura Chardonnay
TASTING NOTE
This has long been a staff favourite at W&W! Ripe and creamily oaky with tropical fruit undertones, this is a perfectly balanced, full bodied, ripe and peachy Chardonnay. With such great poise and balance this wine will certainly stand up to more expensive Chardonnays from Australasia.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Based in the Colchagua Valley just south of Santiago, Vina Casa Silva as a winery was re-established in 1997. It was done so by Mario Silva, a fourth generation descendant from one of Chile's oldest winemaking dynasties.
From the original vineyard site and winery in Angostura, new sites have been found and planted in Los Lingues, Lolol and Colchagua's first coastal estate at Paredones. With the inception of the 'Microterroir Project' and also the 'Carmenere Clone Project' now fully underway, the future is incredibly bright for Vina Casa Silva.
Vina Casa Silva has been inundated with wine awards since it first put its wines into competitions in 2000 and can quite confidently say that it is indeed the most awarded winery in Chile. At Whitmore and White we firmly believe in the wines of Vina Casa Silva and as such you will see a comprehensive range on our shelves.
