On the nose there are hints of caramel, sweet Sherry and spicy cinnamon. The palate is smooth and rich with a toffee-caramel style and Moscatel Sherry sweetness. The finish is fruity with notes of raisins, figs and prunes.

The Dalmore Distillery was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson. It sits on the banks of the Cromarty Firth overlooking the rich and fertile Black Isle. The name Dalmore is half Gaelic and half ancient Norse and means “the big meadowland”.

In 1886 the distillery was purchased by the Mackenzie family and the distillery’s emblem, the “twelve pointer stag” was introduced from their clan crest. Ownership remained with the Mackenzie’s until 1960 when it was bought by Whyte & Mackay.
