TASTING NOTE

Aromas of dried figs, prunes and burnt toffee. The palate is smooth and sweet with notes of dried fruit, walnuts and spices.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Established in 1875 the winery is run by the fifth generation of Curatolos, making it the oldest Marsala producing business. The fermentation is slow at 20-25 degrees Celsius. The base wine is 12% alcohol and has a residual sugar level of 20 grams per litre.

Alcohol, fresh grape must with added alcohol (known as mistella) and concentrated grape must (mosto cot to - traditionally baked to reduce volume by one third) are added to the base wine giving a final alcohol level of 17% and the desired sugar level for this Dolce (sweet) style of Marsala wine.
